Quran 10:47 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

And for every community of the communities of this world there is a messenger. And when their messenger comes to them and they deny him judgement is passed between them justly fairly such that they are punished and the messenger and all those who accepted his truthfulness are delivered; and they are not wronged by being punished for no crime similarly We shall deal with these disbelievers of your community.

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

To every people, generation or nation has a Messenger been sent to admonish them to seek Allah, their Creator and draw near to him. Following his death, the legacy of thought and the message of truth were committed to a delegate until another Messenger was sent, And in Day of judgment shall every Messenger bear witness to his peoples response, and people shall be judged and every one is rendered his due and no one shall be wronged

Quran 10:47 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

The Criminals will certainly be avenged -- whether in This World or in the Hereafter Allah said to His Messenger : وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ ( Whether We show you some of what We promise them (the torment ),) We shall avenge them in your lifetime so your eye will be delighted. أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ( Or We cause you to die -- still unto Us is their return, ) Allah will then be the Witness watching over their actions for you.
Allah then said, وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولٌ فَإِذَا جَآءَ رَسُولُهُمْ ( And for every Ummah there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, ) Mujahid said: "This will be on the Day of Resurrection. قُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْقِسْطِ ( the matter will be judged between them with justice, ) is similar to the Ayah: وَأَشْرَقَتِ الاٌّرْضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا ( And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord (Allah ),) 39:69 So every nation will be presented before Allah in the presence of its Messenger and the Book of its deeds.
All good and evil deeds will be witnessed upon them.
Their guardian angels will be witnesses too.
The nations will be brought forth, one by one.
Our noble Ummah, while it is the last of the nations, is the first one on the Day of Resurrection to be questioned and judged.
This was stated by Allah's Messenger ﷺ in a Hadith recorded by both Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:
«نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، الْمَقْضِيُّ لَهُمْ قَبْلَ الْخَلَائِق»
( We are the last, the first on the Day of Resurrection.
We will be judged before the rest of the creatures. )
His Ummah attains the honor of precedence only by the honor of its Messenger , may Allah's peace and blesings be upon him forever, until the Day of Judgement.

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(10:47) A Messenger is sent to every people; *55 and when their Messenger comes, the fate of that people is decided with full justice; they are subjected to no wrong. *56

And for every nation is a messenger. meaning

*55).
The Qur'anic expression ummah is not to be taken in the narrow sense in which the word 'nation' is used.
The word ummah embraces all those who receive the message of a Messenger of God after his advent.
Furthermore, this word embraces even those among whom no Messenger is physically alive, provided that they have received his message.
All those who, after the advent of a Messenger, happen to live in an age when the teachings of that Messenger are extant or at least it is possible for people to know about what he had taught, constitute the ummah of that Messenger, Besides, all such people will be subject to the law mentioned here ( see verse 47 and n.
56 )
.
In this respect all human beings who happen to live in the age which commences with the advent of Muhammad ( peace be on him ) onwards are his ummah and will continue to be so as long as the Qur'an is available in its pristine purity.
Hence the verse does not say: 'Among every people there is a Messenger.' It rather says: 'There is a Messenger for every people.'
*56).
When the message of a Messenger of God reaches a people the stage is set and they are left with no valid excuse for not believing.
Everything has already been done to communicate the truth to these people and so all that remains is to wait for God's decision to inflict His punishment upon them.
And so far as God's judgement is concerned, it is marked with absolute justice.
All those who obey that Messenger and mend their behaviour are deemed worthy of God's mercy.
On the contrary, those who reject his teaching are considered deserving of His punishment, depending on God's will, both in this world and the Hereafter.

Tafsir Maarif-ul-Quran Mufti Muhammad Shafi

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

( And for every nation ) for the adherents of each religion ( there is a messenger ) who calls them to Allah and to His religion. ( And when their messenger cometh ) to them and they deny ( it will be judged between them ) and the Messenger ( fairly ) with justice: those people will perish and the Messenger will be saved, ( and they will not be wronged ) their good works will not be decreased nor will their evil deeds be increased.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged.
