Verse 11 from surah Al Imran

﴿كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ﴾
[ آل عمران: 11]

English - Sahih International

3:11 [Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in penalty.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The case of these disbelievers is like that of the people of Pharaoh, and those before them who disbelieved in Allah and denied His signs.
As a result, Allah punished them for their sins – their wealth and children did not benefit them.
Allah is severe in punishing those who disbelieve in Him and His signs.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Like the behaviour of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and those before them; they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), so Allah seized (destroyed) them for their sins. And Allah is Severe in punishment.

Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kaththaboo biayatina faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

(Their plight will be) no better than that of the people of Pharaoh, and their predecessors: They denied our Signs, and Allah called them to account for their sins. For Allah is strict in punishment.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Like the behavior of the people of Fir`awn and those before them; they belied Our Ayat. So Allah punished them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.
