surah Nisa aya 144 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَجْعَلُوا لِلَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَانًا مُّبِينًا﴾
[ النساء: 144]
4:144 O you who have believed, do not take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do you wish to give Allah against yourselves a clear case?
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishO you who have faith in Allah and follow His Messenger, do not take the disbelievers as your close friends instead of the believers.
By doing so, do you wish to give Allah clear evidence against you, proving that you are deserving of punishment?
