And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not (42:41)

﴿وَلَمَنِ انتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ﴾
[ الشورى: 41]

42:41 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame].

For those who defend themselves, there will be no blame as they had taken their right.

And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them.

Walamani intasara baAAda thulmihi faolaika ma AAalayhim min sabeelin

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
