﴿قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُلٌّ فِيهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ﴾
[ غافر: 48]

English - Sahih International

40:48 Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, Allah has judged between the servants."

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The arrogant leaders will say: “We are in the fire, regardless of whether we were followers or leaders.
None of us will bear a part of the punishment of the Hereafter.
Allah has decided between the servants, so He has given everyone the punishment they deserve”.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Those who were arrogant will say: "We are all (together) in this (Fire)! Verily Allah has judged between (His) slaves!"

Qala allatheena istakbaroo inna kullun feeha inna Allaha qad hakama bayna alAAibadi

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

Those who had been arrogant will say: "We are all in this (Fire)! Truly, Allah has judged between (his) Servants!"

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Those who were arrogant will say: "We are all (together) in this (Fire)! Verily, Allah has judged between (His) servants!"
