English - Sahih International

40:61 It is Allah who made for you the night that you may rest therein and the day giving sight. Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of the people are not grateful.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English
Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Allah is the One who has made the night dark for you, so you can find peace in it and rest, and He made the day bright and clear so that you can work in it.
Allah is full of great grace to the people when He granted them His apparent and hidden blessings, but most people do not thank Him for what He has blessed them with.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Allah, it is He Who has made the night for you that you may rest therein and the day for you to see. Truly, Allah is full of Bounty to mankind, yet most of mankind give no thanks.

It is Allah Who has made the Night for you, that ye may rest therein, and the days as that which helps (you) to see. Verily Allah is full of Grace and Bounty to men: yet most men give no thanks.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Allah, it is He Who has made the night for you that you may rest therein and the day for you to see. Truly, Allah is full of bounty to mankind; yet, most of mankind give no thanks.

40:61 It is Allah who made for you the night that you may translate in arabic

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

Allah is He Who designated for you a period of darkness -the night- to take your natural repose and recuperate, and a period filled with light. the day- to have a clear perception of things and acquire experience of the activities of human existences. Indeed Allahs efficacious grace abounds in people but most of them show no gratitude

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(40:61) Allah it is Who made the night so that you may seek repose in it, and made the day radiant. Surely Allah is Most Bounteous to people; but most people do not give thanks. *85

It is Allah who made for you the night that you may meaning

*85) This verse comprises two important themes: First, the night and the day have been presented in it as an argument for Tauhid, because their alternating regularly means that One God alone is ruling over the earth and the sun, and their alternation's being beneficial for man and other earthly creatures is an express proof of the fact that the same One God is also the Creator of all these things and has devised this system with such great wisdom that it should be beneficial and useful for all His creatures. Secondly, in this verse the atheists and the polytheists have been to realize how great a blessing has Alllah bestowed on them in the shape of the night and the day and what ungrateful wretches they are that while they are benefiting from this blessing of His they are being disloyal and rebellious to Him day and night (For father explanation see Yunus 87,Alfurqan 62, E.N.'s thereof).

It is Allah who made for you the night that you may meaning in Urdu
