﴿قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ﴾
[ طه: 65]
20:65 They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThe magicians said to Moses ( peace be upon him ): O Moses, you have one of two options: Either you will be the first to throw down the magic you have, or we will be the first to do so.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
They said:"O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"

Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona awwala man alqa

They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?"
