﴿وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا إِنَّا أَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَاءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا السَّبِيلَا﴾
[ الأحزاب: 67]

English - Sahih International

33:67 And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

These people will come up with a false, weak excuse when they will say: “O our Lord! Indeed, we obeyed our leaders and the elders of our tribes and they led us astray from the straight path.
”

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And they will say: "Our Lord! Verily, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us from the (Right) Way.

Waqaloo rabbana inna ataAAna sadatana wakubaraana faadalloona alssabeela

And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path.
