﴿وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ﴾
[ التكوير: 8]
81:8 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishWhen the girl buried alive is asked by Allah.

And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned.

Waitha almawoodatu suilat
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned -
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And when the female infant (Al-Maw'udah) buried alive is questioned (Su'ilat):
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
