﴿۞ أَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَن تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا يَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ﴾
[ الحديد: 16]
क्या ईमानदारों के लिए अभी तक इसका वक्त नहीं आया कि ख़ुदा की याद और क़ुरान के लिए जो (ख़ुदा की तरफ से) नाज़िल हुआ है उनके दिल नरम हों और वह उन लोगों के से न हो जाएँ जिनको उन से पहले किताब (तौरेत, इन्जील) दी गयी थी तो (जब) एक ज़माना दराज़ गुज़र गया तो उनके दिल सख्त हो गए और इनमें से बहुतेरे बदकार हैं

क्या उन लोगों के लिए, जो ईमान लाए, अभी वह समय नहीं आया कि उनके दिल अल्लाह की याद के लिए और जो सत्य अवतरित हुआ है उसके आगे झुक जाएँ? और वे उन लोगों की तरह न हो जाएँ, जिन्हें किताब दी गई थी, फिर उनपर दीर्ध समय बीत गया। अन्ततः उनके दिल कठोर हो गए और उनमें से अधिकांश अवज्ञाकारी रहे

کیا ابھی تک مومنوں کے لئے اس کا وقت نہیں آیا کہ خدا کی یاد کرنے کے وقت اور (قرآن) جو (خدائے) برحق (کی طرف) سے نازل ہوا ہے اس کے سننے کے وقت ان کے دل نرم ہوجائیں اور وہ ان لوگوں کی طرف نہ ہوجائیں جن کو (ان سے) پہلے کتابیں دی گئی تھیں۔ پھر ان پر زمان طویل گزر گیا تو ان کے دل سخت ہوگئے۔ اور ان میں سے اکثر نافرمان ہیں

(57:16) Is the time not come that the hearts of the believers should be humbled to Allah's remembrance and to the Truth that He has revealed, *28 and that they should not be like those who were vouchsafed the Book and then a long time elapsed so that their hearts were hardened? A great many of them are now evil-doers. *29

*28) Here again, the word "believers" is general, but it dces not apply to alI the Muslims; it refers to those particular Muslims who had professed the faith verbally and joined the followers of the Holy Prophet (upon whom be Allah's peace) though their hearts were devoid of any concern for Islam. They were watching that the pagan forces were bent upon wiping out Islam; they had encircled the handful of Muslims from all sides, who were being made the target of persecution everywhere in Arabia, and thus oppressed the Muslims were fleeing to Madinah empty-handed for refuge; the sincere Muslims were extending to them whatever economic help they could; yet they were, at the same time, engaged in a life and-death struggle with the enemy. But, in spite of this, these people who professed the faith were not being moved at all. So, here, they are being put to shame. as if to say: "What kind of believers are you? At this critical juncture for Islam, is it not yet time that your hearts should melt at the mention of AIlah and be filled with the spirit of sacrifice for the sake of His Religion? Can the believers be such that they may 'have no feeling for Islam when it is confronted with hard times, that they may sit un-concerned when they are summoned in the name of Allah, that the hearts may neither tremble out of fear of Allah nor bow to His Command when He Himself should make an appeal for contributions in the Book sent down by Him, declaring it as a loan on Himself and plainly telling that the one who would regard his wealth as dearer than the cause of the true Faith would be a hypocrite and not a believer?"
*29) That is, "The Jews and Christians seem to have lost fervour and degenerated spiritually and morally hundreds of years after the passing away of their Prophets; but have you already become so depraved that while the Prophet is still present among you, and the Book of God is still being revealed, and not much time has passed over you since you affirmed the Faith, and you have started behaving like the Jews and Christians who have reached this state through centuries of playing and tempering with the Book of Allah and its verses?"

Alam yani lillatheena amanoo an takhshaAAa quloobuhum lithikri Allahi wama nazala mina alhaqqi wala yakoonoo kaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablu fatala AAalayhimu alamadu faqasat quloobuhum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona

Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.

যারা মুমিন, তাদের জন্যে কি আল্লাহর স্মরণে এবং যে সত্য অবর্তীর্ণ হয়েছে, তার কারণে হৃদয় বিগলিত হওয়ার সময় আসেনি? তারা তাদের মত যেন না হয়, যাদেরকে পূর্বে কিতাব দেয়া হয়েছিল। তাদের উপর সুদীর্ঘকাল অতিক্রান্ত হয়েছে, অতঃপর তাদের অন্তঃকরণ কঠিন হয়ে গেছে। তাদের অধিকাংশই পাপাচারী।

- वह फौरन मुझे कोई (मुखलिसी का) रास्ता बता देगा तो हमने मूसा के पास वही
- इसमें शक नहीं कि वह बड़े सच्चे नबी थे जब उन्होंने अपने चचा और मुँह
