Verse 101 from surah At-Tawbah

﴿وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الْأَعْرَابِ مُنَافِقُونَ ۖ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ۖ مَرَدُوا عَلَى النِّفَاقِ لَا تَعْلَمُهُمْ ۖ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚ سَنُعَذِّبُهُم مَّرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ عَظِيمٍ﴾
[ التوبة: 101]

English - Sahih International

9:101 And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madinah. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Some of those who live in the desert surrounding Medina are hypocrites, as are some of the people of Medina.
They are firm and staunch in their hypocrisy.
You, O Messenger, do not know them, but it is Allah Who knows them.
Allah will punish them twice: once in this world by exposing their hypocrisy and by their being killed and taken captive, and again in the Afterlife when they will be punished in the grave.
Then they will receive, on the Day of Judgement, a great punishment in the lowest level of the fire of Hell.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And among the bedouins round about you, some are hypocrites, and so are some among the people of Al-Madinah, they exaggerate and persist in hypocrisy, you (O Muhammad SAW) know them not, We know them. We shall punish them twice, and thereafter they shall be brought back to a great (horrible) torment.

Certain of the desert Arabs round about you are hypocrites, as well as (desert Arabs) among the Medina folk: they are obstinate in hypocrisy: thou knowest them not: We know them: twice shall We punish them: and in addition shall they be sent to a grievous penalty.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And among the bedouins around you, some are hypocrites, and so are some among the people of Al-Madinah who persist in hypocrisy; you know them not, We know them. We shall punish them twice, and thereafter they shall be brought back to a great (horrible) torment.

They conceal their disposition and cleverly hide their nature from apprehension, you do not recognized them, but We do know them. We will make them suffer double, then be sent back to the torment laid upon the damned

(9:101) There are many hypocrites among the Bedouins who dwell around you; likewise among the citizens of Al-Madinah there are hypocrites who have become experts in hypocrisy. You do not know them, but We do know them. *97 The time is coming when We will give them double chastisement: *98 then they shall be returned to a far greater torment.

And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] meaning

*97) They had become so expert in the art of hiding their hypocrisy that even the Holy Prophet could not recognize them, though he possessed immense sagacity and insight into human nature; so Allah informed him about them.
*98) This double chastisement will be the loss of their worldly advantages and the victory of the Islamic Mission in the teeth of their opposition. Thus one chastisement shall be the loss of their worldly benefits for which they practised deceptions and adopted hypocritical attitudes, and instead of gaining wealth, honour and prestige they shall meet with disgrace and utter failure. The second chastisement will be in the shape of the victory of the Islamic Mission to defeat which they exerted their utmost by their machinations and plots. But the Islamic Mission will come out successful in the teeth of their evil wishes, desires, intentions and vicious efforts and they themselves shall witness its victory to their utter despair, regret, grief and sorrow.

تمہارے گرد و پیش جو بدوی رہتے ہیں ان میں بہت سے منافق ہیں اور اسی طرح خود مدینہ کے باشندوں میں بھی منافق موجود ہیں جو نفاق میں طاق ہو گئے ہیں تم انہیں نہیں جانتے، ہم ان کو جانتے ہیں قریب ہے وہ وقت جب ہم ان کو دوہری سزا دیں گے، پھر وہ زیادہ بڑی سزا کے لیے واپس لائے جائیں گے
