Quran 47:15 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

A similitude a description of the Garden promised to the God-fearing the Garden that is shared equally by all those who enter it this first clause is the subject of which the predicate follows therein are rivers of unstaling water read āsin or asin similar in form to dārib ‘striker’ and hadhir ‘cautious’ that is to say one that does not change in contrast to the water of this world which may change due to some factor; and rivers of milk unchanging in flavour in contrast to the milk of this world on account of its issuing from udders and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers in contrast to the wine of this world which is distasteful to drink; and also rivers of purified honey in contrast to the honey of this world which when it issues out of the bellies of bees becomes mixed with wax and other elements; and there will be for them therein varieties of every fruit and forgiveness from their Lord for He is pleased with them in addition to His beneficence towards them in the way mentioned in contrast to one who is a master of servants in this world who while being kind to them may at the same time be wrathful with them. Is such a one like him who abides in the Fire? ka-man huwa khālidun fī’l-nāri the predicate of an implied subject which is a-man huwa fī hādha’l-na‘īm ‘Is one who is amidst such bliss as him who abides in the Fire?’. And they will be given to drink boiling water which rips apart their bowels that is their entrails so that these will be excreted from their rears. Am‘ā’ ‘bowels’ is the plural of mi‘an its alif being derived from the yā’ of their saying mi‘yān as an alternative singular to mi‘an.

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

And does it compare: the garden of bliss and surpassing beauty promised to those who believe with breasts filled with reverential awe wherein rivers flow with untainted pure fresh water, and rivers flowing with tasteful, unchanging, immutable milk, rivers flowing with wine making glad the hearts of those who drink it, and rivers flowing with strained clear honey, a garden in which grow all kinds of fruits and the grace of Allahs mercy and forgiveness. Does this blissful state compare with the state wherein one suffers the permanent abode in Hell where in the inmates are forced to drink boiling water melting their bowels

Quran 47:15 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

The Worshipper of the Truth and the Worshipper of Lust are not Equal Allah says: أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ ( Can then he, who stands on clear evidence from his Lord... ) This means a person who is upon clear vision and certainty concerning Allah's commands and His religion, because of the guidance and knowledge that Allah has revealed in His Book, and because of the pure nature upon which Allah has created him. كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَاتَّبَعُواْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ( (Can he ) be likened to those for whom their evil deeds are beautified for them, while they follow their own lusts) which means that they cannot be equal.
This is similar to Allah's saying, أَفَمَن يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَبِّكَ الْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَى ( Can he who knows that what has been revealed unto you from your Lord is the truth be like him who is blind ) ( 13:19 ) And, لاَ يَسْتَوِى أَصْحَـبُ النَّارِ وَأَصْحَـبُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَـبُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمُ الْفَآئِزُونَ ( Not equal are the people of the Fire and the people of Paradise.
The People of Paradise will be the successful ones. )
( 59:20 ) Description of Paradise and Its Rivers Allah then says: مَّثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِى وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ( The description of Paradise which is promised for those who have Taqwa... ) `Ikrimah said, مَّثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ ( The description of Paradise ) "This means its description." فِيهَآ أَنْهَارٌ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍ ( In it are rivers of water that are not Asin, ) Ibn `Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, Al-Hasan, and Qatadah all said, "It does not change." Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak, and `Ata' Al-Khurasani all said, "It is not foul-smelling." The Arabs say Asin if its ( water ) scent changes. وَأَنْهَارٌ مِّن لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُ ( rivers of milk, the taste of which never changes, ) which means that the milk is of utmost whiteness, sweetness, and richness.
It has been mentioned in a Hadith attributed to the Prophet "Their milk did not come out of the udders of cattle." وَأَنْهَـرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـرِبِينَ ( rivers of wine delightful to those who drink it, ) hich means that the wine does not have a bad taste or foul smell like that of the worldly life.
Rather, it is good in its appearance, taste, smell, and effect, as Allah says, لاَ فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلاَ هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ ( it (the wine ) has no bad effects, nor does it cause intoxication.) ( 37:47 ) and, لاَّ يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلاَ يُنزِفُونَ ( From which (the wine ) they will have no headache, nor will they be intoxicated.) ( 56:19 ) بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـرِبِينَ ( white, delicious to the drinkers. )( 37:46 ) It has been mentioned in a Hadith attributed to the Prophet , "Their wine was not pressed under men's feet." وَأَنْهَـرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ( and rivers of refined honey; ) which means that the honey is of utmost purity and pleasant color, taste, and smell.
It has been mentioned in a Hadith attributed to the Prophet , "Their honey did not come out of the bellies of bees." Imam Ahmad recorded from Hakim bin Mu`awiyah who narrated from his father that Allah's Messenger ﷺ said,
«فِي الْجَنَّةِ بَحْرُ اللَّبَنِ وَبَحْرُ الْمَاءِ وَبَحْرُ الْعَسَلِ وَبَحْرُ الْخَمْرِ، ثُمَّ تُشَقَّقُ الْأَنْهَارُ مِنْهَا بَعْد»
(Verily, there is in Paradise a lake of milk, a lake of water, a lake of honey, and a lake of wine.
The rivers then gush out of them.
At-Tirmidhi reported this narration in his section of the Description of Paradise, and he said, "Hasan Sahih.
In the Sahih, it is recorded that Allah's Messenger ﷺ said,
«إِذَا سَأَلْتُمُ اللهَ تَعَالى فَاسْأَلُوهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ فَإِنَّهُ أَوْسَطُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَأَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَمِنْهُ تُفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَفَوْقَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمن»
( When you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaws, because it is the central and highest part of the Paradise, and from it gush the rivers of the Paradise and above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful. )Allah says, وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَتِ ( ...and therein for them are all kinds of fruits, ... ) This similar to His saying, يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكلِّ فَـكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ ( They will call in it for every kind of fruit in peace and security. ) ( 44:55 ) And His saying, فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ ( In them will be every kind of fruits in pairs.
..and forgiveness from their Lord. )
meaning, in addition to all of the above.
Allah says, كَمَنْ هُوَ خَـلِدٌ فِى النَّارِ ( Can this be likened to those who abide eternally in the Fire ) meaning, `can those that We have described their position in the Paradise be like those who will abide eternally in the Fire' They are not equal, and nor are those who will be in the high ranks ( in the Paradise ) and those who will be in the lowest depths ( Hell ). وَسُقُواْ مَآءً حَمِيماً ( and are given to drink boiling water ) meaning, extremely hot; so hot that it is unbearable. فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَآءَهُمْ ( that severs their intestines ) meaning, that will cut their insides -- both bowels and intestines.
We seek refuge in Allah from that.

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(47:15) Here is the parable of Paradise which the God-fearing have been promised: in it shall be rivers of incorruptible water, *20 rivers of milk unchanging in taste, *21and rivers of wine, a delight to those that drink; *22 and rivers of pure honey. *23 In it they will have every kind of fruit as well as forgiveness from their Lord. *24 Can such be like those who will abide in the Fire and will be given a boiling water to drink that will tear their bowels apart?

Is the description of Paradise, which the meaning

*20) Literally, asia is the taste and colour of water which has changed, or which gives a bad smell.
In the world the water of rivers and canals is generally muddy; its taste and colour change due to the mixture of sand and dust and of different kinds of vegetation in it, and it also gives off a kind of bad smell.
Therefore, the quality of the water of the rivers and canals of Paradise will be that it will be pure and clear, without any adulteration.

*21) In a Hadith directly reported from the Holy Prophet, it has been explained thus: " It will not be the milk squeezed from the teats of animals. " That is, it willbe the milk which Allah will bring out in the form of springs from the earth and cause it to flow into canals; it will not be squeezed from the teats of animals and then made to flow into the canals of Paradise.
About this natural milk it has been said: Its flavour will not have changed at all ;" that is, it will not give even the slightest offensive smell that is found in every kind of milk squeezed from the animal teats.

*22) In another Hadith reported directly from the Holy Prophet, it has been explained, thus: ''This wine will not have been distilled from rotten fruit by beating and crushing it under feet, "
like the wine in the world, but AIIah will produce it also in the form of springs and cause it to flow into canals; then its quality will be that " it will be delightful for the drinkers "; that is, it will not be bitter and foul-smelling like the wines of the world, which cannot be drunk even by the most habitual drinker without showing some distaste.
In Surah As-Saffa t, another quality of it has been described: " Neither will the drinker be harmed physically thereby nor become drunk. " ( v.
47 )
In Surah AI-Waqi'ah it has been said: " ...
which will neither cause them giddiness nor affect their sense. "
( v.
19 )
This shows that wine will not intoxicate, but will only give pleasure and delight.

*23) In the Hadith it has been explained, thus: " The honey will not have been drawn from the bees' bellies, " but it also will come out from springs and flow into canals; therefore, it will not have wax, and pieces of the honey-comb and legs of dead bees mixed in it, but it will be absolutely pure.

*24) The mention of forgiveness from Allah after the blessings of Paradise can have two meanings: ( 1 ) That the greatest blessing by far will be that Allah will forgive them; and ( 2 ) that the errors and faults that they happened to commit in the world, will not even so much as be mentioned before them, but Allah will cover them up for ever so that they are not put to shame in Paradise.

( A similitude of the Garden ) the description of Paradise ( which those who keep their duty (to Allah )) which those who ward off disbelief, idolatry and indecencies ( are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted ) unpolluted in taste or smell, ( and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changeth not ) into a sour taste and pollen has not cause the offensive smell of its fat to spread, ( and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers ) and this wine was not pressed with people’s feet, ( and rivers of clear run honey ) without wax, yet it has not come from the bellies of bees; ( therein for them ) for the dwellers of Paradise ( is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord ) of the sins which they committed in the life of the world. ( (Are those who enjoy all this ) like those who are immortal in the Fire) never to die therein nor leave; in reference here to Abu Jahl (and are given boiling water to drink so that it teareth their bowels?

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

The description of Paradise which the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) have been promised is that in it are rivers of water the taste and smell of which are not changed; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine delicious to those who drink; and rivers of clarified honey (clear and pure) therein for them is every kind of fruit; and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels?
