surah Shuara aya 203 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ﴾
[ الشعراء: 203]
26:203 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishSo when the punishment will come upon them suddenly, they will say out of immense grief, “Will we be given respite to repent to Allah?”

Then they will say: "Can we be respited?"

Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"

Then they will say: "Can we be respited"

There and then they shall change their minds with regard to past action and conduct and express their hope which springs eternal in their breasts and say: can we be given respite so that we corrects all the wrongs

(26:203) they say, "May we be given some respite ?" *127
And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" meaning
*127) That is, "Until the criminals are actually overtaken by the torment, they do not believe in the Prophet. Then they feel remorse and desire to be given some respite when it is too late. "
