﴿وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّامِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ﴾
[ إبراهيم: 5]

English - Sahih International

14:5 And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days of Allah." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

We had sent Moses and supported him with miracles indicating his truthfulness and that he was indeed sent by His Lord.
We instructed him to remove his people from disbelief, ignorance and slavery to faith, knowledge and freedom from the enslavement of Pharaoh and his people.
We instructed him to remind them of Allah’s days on which He blessed them with His favours and of the days of His retribution on which He took the deniers to task.
In those days there are clear signs of Allah’s Oneness, His magnitude of power, His favour to the believers and His punishment of the wrongdoing deniers.
This is something that will be of benefit to those who are steadfast in following Allah and who constantly show gratitude for His favours and blessings.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And indeed We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Ayat (signs, proofs, and evidences) (saying): "Bring out your people from darkness into light, and make them remember the annals of Allah. Truly, therein are evidences, proofs and signs for every patient, thankful (person)."

Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina an akhrij qawmaka mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wathakkirhum biayyami Allahi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And indeed We sent Musa with Our Ayat (saying): "Bring out your people from darkness into light, and remind them of the annals (or days) of Allah. Truly, therein are Ayat for every patient, thankful (person)."

We sent Mussa (Moses) with Our revelations and signs pointing to Allahs Authority and We commanded him to guide his people into all truth and lead them out of darkness and superstitions of later times and out of want of spiritual and intellectual sight into illumination and enlightenment We enjoined him to remind them of the eventful days of Allah, His means of trail and His mode of action

(14:5) We sent Moses also before this with Our Signs: and We commanded him, "Bring your people out of all kinds of darkness into Light and admonish, them to learn lessons from the Divine History. " *8 There are great Signs *9 in this for every steadfast and grateful person. *10

And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your meaning

*8) The Arabic word (ayyam) technically means memorable historical events. Therefore (Ayyam-u-AIlah) (Divine History) implies all those eventful chapters of human history which mention the rewards and punishments that were meted out to the great personalities and nations according to their deeds in the past ages.
*9) Those historical events are Signs in this sense that their proper and intelligent study provides proofs of the fact that there is only one God: and that the Law of Retribution is universal and is based absolutely on the differentiation between the knowledge and moral practice of the Truth and falsehood: that this Law also requires another world (the Hereafter) for its due fulfilment. Moreover, these events contain Signs that serve as warnings against the evil consequences of building up systems of life on false creeds and theories, and help one to learn lessons from them.
*10) Though these Signs are always there, only those persons learn lessons from them who remain steadfast in trials and appreciate the blessings of Allah rightly and are grateful to Him. Obviously, frivolous and ungrateful persons cannot learn any lesson from these Signs, even though they might grasp their significance.

And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your meaning in Urdu

ہم اِس سے پہلے موسیٰؑ کو بھی اپنی نشانیوں کے ساتھ بھیج چکے ہیں اسے بھی ہم نے حکم دیا تھا کہ اپنی قوم کو تاریکیوں سے نکال کر روشنی میں لا اور انہیں تاریخ الٰہی کے سبق آموز واقعات سنا کر نصیحت کر اِن واقعات میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں ہر اُس شخص کے لیے جو صبر اور شکر کرنے والا ہو
