Verse 59 from surah An-Nahl

﴿يَتَوَارَىٰ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ مِن سُوءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِ ۚ أَيُمْسِكُهُ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُ فِي التُّرَابِ ۗ أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ﴾
[ النحل: 59]

Ayat With Hindi Translation

और वह ज़हर का सा घूँट पीकर रह जाता है (बेटी की) जिसकी खुशखबरी दी गई है अपनी क़ौम के लोगों से छिपा फिरता है (और सोचता है) कि क्या इसको ज़िल्लत उठाके ज़िन्दा रहने दे या (ज़िन्दा ही) इसको ज़मीन में गाड़ दे-देखो तुम लोग किस क़दर बुरा एहकाम (हुक्म) लगाते हैं

22. अर्थात जीवित रहने दे। इस्लाम से पूर्व अरब समाज के कुछ क़बीलों में पुत्रियों के जन्म को लज्जा की चीज़ समझा जाता था। जिसका चित्रण इस आयत में किया गया है।

Surah Nahl Ayat 59 meaning in Hindi

जो शुभ सूचना उसे दी गई वह (उसकी दृष्टि में) ऐसी बुराई की बात हुई जो उसके कारण वह लोगों से छिपता फिरता है कि अपमान सहन करके उसे रहने दे या उसे मिट्टी में दबा दे। देखो, कितना बुरा फ़ैसला है जो वे करते है!

اور اس خبر بد سے (جو وہ سنتا ہے) لوگوں سے چھپتا پھرتا ہے (اور سوچتا ہے) کہ آیا ذلت برداشت کرکے لڑکی کو زندہ رہنے دے یا زمین میں گاڑ دے۔ دیکھو یہ جو تجویز کرتے ہیں بہت بری ہے

(16:59) he hides himself from people because of this disgrace, asking himself whether he should suffer his daughter with disgrace or bury her alive. What an evil judgment they have about Allah ! *52

He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which meaning

*52) This attitude of contempt towards daughters has been mentioned to bring home to them the height of their folly, ignorance and impudence in regard to God. This is why they did not hesitate to assign daughters to Allah, though they themselves felt that to have daughters was a matter of disgrace for theta. Besides this, it shows that they had a very low estimation of Allah, which had resulted from their ways of shirk. So they felt nothing wrong in ascribing such foolish and absurd things to Allah Who is above such things.

Yatawara mina alqawmi min sooi ma bushshira bihi ayumsikuhu AAala hoonin am yadussuhu fee altturabi ala saa ma yahkumoona

He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide.

তাকে শোনানো সুসংবাদের দুঃখে সে লোকদের কাছ থেকে মুখ লুকিয়ে থাকে। সে ভাবে, অপমান সহ্য করে তাকে থাকতে দেবে, না তাকে মাটির নীচে পুতে ফেলবে। শুনে রাখ, তাদের ফয়সালা খুবই নিকৃষ্ট।
