﴿أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ﴾

(ऐ रसूल) क्या तुमने नहीं देखा कि ख़ुदा ने अच्छी बात (मसलन कलमा तौहीद की) वैसी अच्छी मिसाल बयान की है कि (अच्छी बात) गोया एक पाकीज़ा दरख्त है कि उसकी जड़ मज़बूत है और उसकी टहनियाँ आसमान में लगी हो

10. (पवित्र कलिमा) से अभिप्राय ला इलाहा इल्लल्लाह है। जो इस्लाम का धर्म सूत्र है। इसका अर्थ यह है कि अल्लाह के सिवा कोई सच्चा पूज्य नहीं है। और यही एकेश्वरवाद का मूलाधार है। अब्दुल्लाह बिन उमर रज़ियल्लाहू अन्हुमा कहते हैं कि हम रसूलुल्लाह सल्लल्लाहू अलैहि व सल्लम के पास थे कि आपने कहा : मुझे ऐसा वृक्ष बताओ जो मुसलमान के समान होता है। जिसका पत्ता नहीं गिरता, तथा प्रत्येक समय अपना फल दिया करता है? इब्ने उमर ने कहा : मेरे मन में यह बात आई कि वह खजूर का वृक्ष है। और अबू बक्र तथा उमर को देखा कि बोल नहीं रहे हैं, इसलिए मैंने भी बोलना अच्छा नहीं समझा। जब वे कुछ नहीं बोले, तो रसूलुल्लाह सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम ने कहा : वह खजूर का वृक्ष है। (संक्षिप्त अनुवाद के साथ, सह़ीह़ बुख़ारी : 4698, सह़ीह़ मुस्लिम : 2811)

क्या तुमने देखा नहीं कि अल्लाह ने कैसी मिसाल पेश की? अच्छी उत्तम बात एक अच्छे शुभ वृक्ष के सदृश है, जिसकी जड़ गहरी जमी हुई हो और उसकी शाखाएँ आकाश में पहुँची हुई हों;

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ خدا نے پاک بات کی کیسی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے (وہ ایسی ہے) جیسے پاکیزہ درخت جس کی جڑ مضبوط (یعنی زمین کو پکڑے ہوئے) ہو اور شاخیں آسمان میں

(14:24) Do you not see to what Allah' has likened the `Pure Word' *34 ? It is like a good tree which has got deep roots into the earth and whose branches have spread high up into heaven. *35

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good meaning

*34) Though the expression literally means "Pure Word," here it stands for "Truthful Saying and Righteous Creed". According to the Qur'an, this 'Saying' and 'Creed" are the acceptance of the doctrine of Tauhid, belief in Prophethood and Revelation, and in the lift of the Hereafter, for it declares these things to be the fundamental truths.
*35) This is to show the strength and extent of the "Pure Word". As the entire system of the universe hangs upon the Reality contained in this "Pure Word" which the believer Professes, the earth and its entire system co-operates with him and the heaven with its entire system welcomes him. There is, therefore, no conflict between him and the Law of nature, and everything in its very nature extends its help to him.

Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?

তুমি কি লক্ষ্য কর না, আল্লাহ তা’আলা কেমন উপমা বর্ণনা করেছেনঃ পবিত্র বাক্য হলো পবিত্র বৃক্ষের মত। তার শিকড় মজবুত এবং শাখা আকাশে উত্থিত।
