Labial Idhar

Letters of Labial Idhar: every alphabet letter except Meem and Baa.

Whenever the silent Meem is followed by any letter other than Meem or Baa, it must be pronounced clearly (Idhar).

Idhar is emphasized more strongly before Faa (f) and Waw (w), due to how close these letters are to the Meem's own articulation point (the lips) — to distinguish the letters clearly and avoid any blurring of the Meem.

Examples of Labial Idhar:

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ﴿ (Al-Fil: 2)

لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِيَ دِينِ﴿ (Al-Kafirun: 6)

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لاَ نُرِيدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلاَ شُكُورًا﴿ (Al-Insan: 9)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ﴿ (Al-Fatiha: 2)
