﴿وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ﴾
[ لقمان: 18]

और लोगों के सामने (गुरुर से) अपना मुँह न फुलाना और ज़मीन पर अकड़कर न चलना क्योंकि ख़ुदा किसी अकड़ने वाले और इतराने वाले को दोस्त नहीं रखता और अपनी चाल ढाल में मियाना रवी एख्तेयार करो

6. सह़ीह़ ह़दीस में कहा गया है कि : वह व्यक्ति स्वर्ग में नहीं जाएगा जिसके दिल में राई के दाने के बराबर भी अहंकार हो। (मुसनद अहमद : 1/412)

"और लोगों से अपना रूख़ न फेर और न धरती में इतराकर चल। निश्चय ही अल्लाह किसी अहंकारी, डींग मारनेवाले को पसन्द नहीं करता

اور (ازراہ غرور) لوگوں سے گال نہ پھلانا اور زمین میں اکڑ کر نہ چلنا۔ کہ خدا کسی اترانے والے خود پسند کو پسند نہیں کرتا

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(31:18) Do not (contemptuously) turn your face away from people, *31 nor tread haughtily upon earth. Allah does not love the arrogant and the vainglorious. *32

And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do meaning

*31) Tusa'ir in the original is from se 'ar. a disease in the camel's neck clue to which it keeps its face turned to one side. The idiom implies the attitude of a person who shows arrogance and vanity, turns his face away and treats others with scant respect.
*32) Mukhtal in the original implies a person who has an over-high opinion of himself, and fakhur is the one who boasts of his superiority over others. A man becomes haughty and arrogant and vain in his gait only when he is puffed up with pride, and wants that others should feel his superiority.

Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka lilnnasi wala tamshi fee alardi marahan inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin

English - Sahih International


And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

  3. और जो लोग आसमानों में है और ज़मीन पर हैं (सब को) तुम्हारा परवरदिगार खूब
  4. क्या हमने ज़मीन को ज़िन्दों और मुर्दों को समेटने वाली नहीं बनाया
  5. मगर (हॉ) जिन लोगों ने इससे पहले कि तुम इनपर क़ाबू पाओ तौबा कर लो
  6. फिर उनके पीछे पीछे पिछलों को भी चलता करेंगे
  7. ग़रज़ कितनी बस्तियाँ हैं कि हम ने उन्हें बरबाद कर दिया और वह सरकश थीं
  8. ऐ लोगों अगर ख़ुदा चाहे तो तुमको (दुनिया के परदे से) बिल्कुल उठा ले और
  9. बेशक जो लोग (फरिशते बग़ैरह) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार के पास मुक़र्रिब हैं और वह उसकी इबादत
  10. (ये) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ से काफ़ी इनाम और सिला है
