﴿وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾
[ النحل: 43]

और (ऐ रसूल) तुम से पहले आदमियों ही को पैग़म्बर बना बनाकर भेजा किए जिन की तरफ हम वहीं भेजते थे तो (तुम अहले मक्का से कहो कि) अगर तुम खुद नहीं जानते हो तो अहले ज़िक्र (आलिमों से) पूछो (और उन पैग़म्बरों को भेजा भी तो) रौशन दलीलों और किताबों के साथ

16. मक्का के मुश्रिकों ने कहा कि यदि अल्लाह को कोई रसूल भेजना होता तो किसी फ़रिश्ते को भेजता। उसी पर यह आयत उतरी। ज्ञानियों से अभिप्राय वे अह्ले किताब हैं जिन्हें आकाशीय पुस्तकों का ज्ञान हो।

اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے مردوں ہی کو پیغمبر بنا کر بھیجا تھا جن کی طرف ہم وحی بھیجا کرتے تھے اگر تم لوگ نہیں جانتے تو اہل کتاب سے پوچھ لو

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(16:43) (O Muhammad!) whenever We sent before you Messengers to whom We revealed Our Messages, they were but human beings. *38 You (people of Makkah) may inquire from the people who possess Admonition *39 if you do not know this yourselves.

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed meaning

*38) This is the answer to the objection of the mushriks of Makkah (which has not been cited here j that they could not believe that Muhammad (may Allah's peace be upon him), was a Prophet of God, because he was a human being like them. They have been told that the same objection had been raised against all the Prophets who came before him.
*39) "....people who possess Admonition" are the scholars of the people of the Books and others, who, though not scholars in the strict sense had sufficient knowledge of the teachings of the revealed Books and were acquainted with the stories of the former Prophets.

Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know.

  2. (हॉ) जिन लोगों ने ईमान क़ुबूल किया और अच्छे-अच्छे काम किए और पाबन्दी से नमाज़
  3. बल्कि तुम ख़ुदा ही कि इबादत करो और शुक्र गुज़ारों में हो
  4. और हमने सुलेमान का इम्तेहान लिया और उनके तख्त पर एक बेजान धड़ लाकर गिरा
  5. फिर जब वह तुमसे तकलीफ को दूर कर देता है तो बस फौरन तुममें से
  6. आख़िर तुम दोनों अपने परवरदिगार की किस किस नेअमत से इन्कार करोगे
  7. और (आमाल की) जज़ा (सज़ा) ज़रूर होगी
  8. वह हूरें हैं जो ख़ेमों में छुपी बैठी हैं
  9. और जिन लोगों ने हमारी आयतों को और आख़िरत की हुज़ूरी को झूठलाया उनका सब
  10. ऐ रसूल उनका मंज़िले मक़सूद तक पहुंचाना तुम्हारा काम नहीं (तुम्हारा काम सिर्फ रास्ता दिखाना
