Admoesta, pois, os humanos sobre o dia em que os açoitará o (14:44)

﴿وَأَنذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ الْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا رَبَّنَا أَخِّرْنَا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ ۗ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٍ﴾
[ إبراهيم: 44]

Admoesta, pois, os humanos sobre o dia em que os açoitará o castigo, e os iníquos dirão: ó Senhor nosso, poupa-nos pormais um pouco. Obedeceremos ao Teu apelo e seguiremos os mensageiros! (Ser-lhes-á respondido): Mas não jurastes antesque não seríeis aniquilados?

Portuguese Translation - Helmy Nasr

E admoesta os homens de que, um dia, o castigo lhes chegará; então, os que foram injustos dirão: Senhor nosso! Concede-nos prazo, até um termo próximo, nós atenderemos Tua convocação e seguiremos os Mensageiros. Dir-se-lhes-á: Não jurastes, antes, que jamais deixaríeis a terra?

44. Y advierte a la gente (oh, Muhammad!) sobre el día en que el castigo se abatirá sobre ellos y los injustos que niegan la verdad dirán: «Señor!, déjanos regresar a la tierra para que podamos responder a Tu llamada y seguir a Tusmensajeros». (Se les dirá con reproche:) «¿Acaso no jurasteis con anterioridad que nunca dejaríais la vida terrenal y que no resucitaríais?

And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?
