Os hemos advertido de un castigo próximo.El día en que el hombre contemple lo que sus manos presentaron y diga el incrédulo: Ay de mí! Ojalá fuera tierra.

Les he advertido de este castigo inminente. Ese día cada ser humano ha de contemplar sus obras, y entonces dirá quien haya desmentido el Mensaje: "¡Ojalá fuera polvo [para no ser juzgado]!"

40. Realmente, os hemos advertido de un castigo cercano. Ese día el hombre verá las acciones que realizó, y el que rechazó la verdad dirá: «Ojalá fuera polvo (y no hubiera existido nunca para no ser castigado)!».

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
