|
﴿وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٞ ﴾ [Al-Anfāl: 28]
(28) And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward.

|
﴿وَإِذَآ أَنۡعَمۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ أَعۡرَضَ وَنَـَٔا بِجَانِبِهِۦ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ كَانَ يَـُٔوسٗا ﴾ [Al-Isrā’: 83]
(83) And when We bestow favor upon the disbeliever, he turns away and distances himself; and when evil touches him, he is ever despairing.

﴿۞ إِنَّ قَٰرُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوۡمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكُنُوزِ مَآ إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُۥ لَتَنُوٓأُ بِٱلۡعُصۡبَةِ أُوْلِي ٱلۡقُوَّةِ إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوۡمُهُۥ لَا تَفۡرَحۡۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَرِحِينَ ﴾ [Al-Qaṣaṣ: 76]
(76) Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, "Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant.

﴿وَأَصۡبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوۡاْ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيۡكَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقۡدِرُۖ لَوۡلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَاۖ وَيۡكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ ﴾ [Al-Qaṣaṣ: 82]
(82) And those who had wished for his position the previous day began to say, "Oh, how Allah extends provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it! If not that Allah had conferred favor on us, He would have caused it to swallow us. Oh, how the disbelievers do not succeed!"

﴿۞ وَلَوۡ بَسَطَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ لَبَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٖ مَّا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرُۢ بَصِيرٞ ﴾ [Ash-Shūra: 27]
(27) And if Allah had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.

﴿ٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعِبٞ وَلَهۡوٞ وَزِينَةٞ وَتَفَاخُرُۢ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَتَكَاثُرٞ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَوۡلَٰدِۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيۡثٍ أَعۡجَبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصۡفَرّٗا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمٗاۖ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞ وَمَغۡفِرَةٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنٞۚ وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلۡغُرُورِ ﴾ [Al-Ḥadīd: 20]
(20) Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

|
﴿إِنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٞۚ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٞ ﴾ [At-Taghābun: 15]
(15) Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.

|
﴿قَالَ نُوحٞ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمۡ عَصَوۡنِي وَٱتَّبَعُواْ مَن لَّمۡ يَزِدۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا ﴾ [Nūḥ: 21]
(21) Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.

|
﴿
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ * وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ * فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ * وَمَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ ﴾ [Al-Lail: 8-11]
(8) But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need (9) And denies the best [reward], (10) We will ease him toward difficulty. (11) And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?

|
(6) No! [But] indeed, man transgresses (7) Because he sees himself self-sufficient.
|
|
﴿
أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ * حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ * كـَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ * ثُمَّ كـَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ * كـَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ * لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ﴾ [At-Takāthur: 1-6]
(1) Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you (2) Until you visit the graveyards. (3) No! You are going to know. (4) Then no! You are going to know. (5) No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... (6) You will surely see the Hellfire.

(8) Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.
|
|
﴿
وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ * ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ * يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ * كـَلَّاۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِي ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ ﴾ [Al-Humazah: 1-4]
(1) Woe to every scorner and mocker (2) Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. (3) He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. (4) No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.
