Dijo: Qué te impide postrarte habiéndotelo ordenado?Contestó: Yo soy... (7:12)

﴿قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ﴾
[ الأعراف: 12]

Dijo: Qué te impide postrarte habiéndotelo ordenado?Contestó: Yo soy mejor que él; a mí me creaste de fuego, mientras que a él lo has creado de barro.

[Dios] le preguntó: "¿Qué te impidió prosternarte cuando te lo ordené?" Respondió: "Yo soy superior a él, pues a mí me creaste de fuego, mientras que a él lo creaste del barro".

12. (Al-lah) le dijo: «¿Qué te ha impedido postrarte cuando te lo he ordenado?». (Iblis) respondió: «Yo soy superior a él: a mí me creaste de fuego; mientras que a él, de barro».

[Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
