Ya les habíamos afligido con el castigo y no se humillaron ni (23:76)

﴿وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ﴾
[ المؤمنون: 76]

Ya les habíamos afligido con el castigo y no se humillaron ni suplicaron ante su Señor.

Los afligí con un castigo, pero aun así no se sometieron a su Señor ni imploraron auxilio.

And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]
