Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Waqi'ah (الواقعة): The Event, meaning the Day of Resurrection — the inevitable occurrence that will surely take place.
- Kadhibah (كاذبة): A lie or denial — i.e., anyone who could deny it or claim it is false.
Explanation of the Verse:
When the Resurrection comes to pass, there will be no soul that can deny it or call it a lie — as some did in this worldly life. On that Day, every person will witness the truth with their own eyes; the reality of that Event will be so overwhelming and undeniable that no one will be able to reject it or claim it is false. It will occur in absolute truth and certainty, leaving no room for doubt or denial. The verse emphasizes that this Event is not a matter of speculation or possibility — it is a definite reality that will unfold exactly as Allah has promised.
This verse serves as a powerful reminder to every human being: the Day of Resurrection is not a distant myth or a tale to be dismissed. It is a certain truth that will descend upon all of creation. For those who reflect, this is an invitation to prepare for that Day while there is still time — to turn to Allah in sincerity, to mend one's relationship with the Creator, and to live a life that will bring joy on that inevitable Day. The One who has the power to bring forth this great Event is the same Lord who watches over you every moment, and His promise is true. Let this certainty fill your heart with hope for His mercy and motivate you to strive for His pleasure — for on that Day, the believers will find their reward, and the deniers will face the consequence of their rejection.
