Explanation of the Verse:
After Allah—glorified and exalted—calls the believers to a profitable trade: faith, striving in His cause, and spending in His way, He now reveals the magnificent dividends of this transaction. He promises that if you—O believers—fulfill what He has commanded, He will forgive your sins, wiping them away entirely, as though they never existed. Then He will admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where water streams gracefully under palaces and trees, a scene of eternal beauty and tranquility. Alongside these gardens, He grants you pure and pleasant dwellings within the Gardens of ʿAdn—lofty, spacious, beautifully constructed, and everlasting, never to be removed or diminished. This reward—forgiveness combined with entry into Paradise—is described as the great triumph, a victory so immense that no worldly achievement can compare to it. It is the ultimate success that every believer yearns for, the culmination of faith and righteous deeds.
A Call to the Believers:
Dear believer, reflect on this divine promise! Allah does not merely pardon your shortcomings—He erases them—and then welcomes you into eternal bliss where rivers flow and dwellings are pure. This is the trade that never fails, the investment that yields infinite returns. Let this verse ignite hope in your heart and strengthen your resolve to strive in Allah’s path, for the reward is beyond imagination. And know that this is not only a promise for the Hereafter; Allah also grants His believing servants victory and near conquest in this world. So hold fast to faith, spend in His cause, and rejoice in the glad tidings of Paradise—for indeed, that is the supreme success. May Allah make us among those who hear this call and respond with sincerity and action.
