Tafsir (Explanation):
In this magnificent verse, Allah, the Most Merciful and Generous, makes a solemn and unbreakable promise to the believing men and the believing women—those who have sincerely embraced faith in Him and His Messenger (peace be upon him) and who strive to live by that faith. He promises them gardens of Paradise beneath which rivers flow, a scene of eternal beauty and tranquility. They will dwell there forever, never to leave, never to die, and never to experience any form of fatigue or sorrow. Their joy will be complete, and their blessings will be everlasting.
Beyond these breathtaking gardens, Allah promises them pure and delightful dwellings within the Gardens of Eden—the highest and most honored level of Paradise. These are not just homes; they are places of perfect peace, designed for the soul to find its ultimate rest and happiness.
Yet, the greatest of all these blessings—the one that surpasses every garden, every river, and every palace—is the Riḍwān, the pleasure and good pleasure of Allah Almighty. This is the moment when the Lord of the Worlds looks upon His believing servants with complete satisfaction and says to them, as mentioned in other verses, "My pleasure I bestow upon you, and never will I be displeased with you after this." This divine pleasure is the ultimate goal of every believer, for it is the key to eternal closeness to Allah and the highest reward that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever conceived.
Therefore, Allah concludes this verse by declaring that this—the attainment of Paradise and, above all, the pleasure of Allah—is the supreme success. It is the true victory that far outweighs any worldly achievement, wealth, or status. This is the promise that should fill every believer's heart with hope, determination, and a burning desire to live a life of faith and righteousness.
A Da'wah Reflection for the Reader:
Dear believer, look at the generosity of your Lord! He does not merely promise you a reward; He promises you an eternal kingdom of bliss, and then He crowns it all with His own pleasure. This is the ultimate motivation for every Muslim and Muslimah: to strive in this world with patience and prayer, knowing that the greatest prize awaits those who remain steadfast. Let this verse ignite in your heart a deep love for Allah and a sincere commitment to His path. For when you seek Allah's pleasure, you will find that He grants you everything—gardens, peace, and the joy of His eternal contentment. This, and this alone, is the true success that never fades.
