Translation Transliteration — Yunus

وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَىٰ دَارِ السَّلَامِ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ۝٢٥

Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

Dar al-Salam (دَارِ السَّلَامِ): The "Home of Peace" — referring to Paradise (Jannah), a place free from all harm, distress, and imperfection.
Yahdi (يَهْدِي): To guide, direct, or grant the ability to follow the right path.
Sirat mustaqeem (صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ): The straight path — the clear, balanced way of Islam that leads to Allah’s pleasure.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) announces His gracious invitation to all of humanity: He calls them to *Dar al-Salam* — Paradise, the abode of eternal peace and security. In that blessed home, believers will be free from every sorrow, fear, and hardship; they will never experience death, illness, or grief again. It is a place where hearts find ultimate tranquility in the presence of their Lord.

Allah does not merely invite — He also guides. He grants His divine success (tawfiq) to whomever He wills among His servants, enabling them to embrace Islam, which is the straight path leading directly to this Home of Peace. This guidance is a mercy from Him, not something earned by human effort alone; it is His grace that opens the heart to truth and keeps one steadfast upon it.

The verse beautifully combines two realities: the universal call (the invitation is for everyone) and the specific guidance (only those whom Allah wills are successfully guided). This reminds us that while the invitation is open to all, we must sincerely seek Allah’s help and strive to respond, for He alone turns the heart toward righteousness.

The Lord of the worlds, the Most Merciful, is personally inviting *you* to a home where peace never ends, where happiness is untainted by sorrow, and where you will dwell forever in safety. What greater honor could there be than the Creator of the universe calling you to His eternal garden? Do not delay your response — embrace the straight path of Islam, purify your intentions, and walk toward that glorious destination. Every step you take in obedience brings you closer to a peace that this world can never offer. Answer His call today, and you will find a joy that transcends every trial of this life.

📜 Verse 23-27 — Yunus

23فَلَمَّا أَنجَاهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ۗ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِكُم ۖ مَّتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

But when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.

24إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاءٍ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ وَالْأَنْعَامُ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَيْهَا أَتَاهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلًا أَوْ نَهَارًا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا حَصِيدًا كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِالْأَمْسِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

The example of [this] worldly life is but like rain which We have sent down from the sky that the plants of the earth absorb - [those] from which men and livestock eat - until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified and its people suppose that they have capability over it, there comes to it Our command by night or by day, and We make it as a harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We explain in detail the signs for a people who give thought.

25وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَىٰ دَارِ السَّلَامِ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path

26۞ لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَىٰ وَزِيَادَةٌ ۖ وَلَا يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٌ وَلَا ذِلَّةٌ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

For them who have done good is the best [reward] and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally

27وَالَّذِينَ كَسَبُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ جَزَاءُ سَيِّئَةٍ بِمِثْلِهَا وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ مَّا لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ ۖ كَأَنَّمَا أُغْشِيَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ قِطَعًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مُظْلِمًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

But they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its equivalent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allah no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
