Meanings of Key Words:

  • Būrika (بُورِكَ): Blessed, or the blessing was bestowed upon.
  • Man fī al-nār (مَن فِي النَّارِ): The one who was at the fire—referring to Prophet Musa (Moses), peace be upon him, who was seeking the fire.
  • Man ḥawlahā (وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا): Those around it—referring to the angels present at that sacred spot.
  • Subḥāna Allah (وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ): Glory be to Allah—declaring His absolute perfection and transcendence above any imperfection.

Tafsir (Explanation):

When Musa, peace be upon him, reached the fire he had seen from afar, he was addressed by his Lord with a call that filled that place with divine light and blessing. The call proclaimed that blessing was bestowed upon the one who came seeking the fire—Musa himself—and upon those around it, the angels who were present in that holy valley. This was a moment of immense honor: a human being chosen for direct conversation with his Creator, surrounded by heavenly beings, in a place sanctified by divine presence.

The call continued with the words "Glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds"—a declaration of Allah's absolute perfection and His transcendence above any resemblance to His creation. This was not merely a praise but a profound lesson: when a servant is honored with closeness to Allah, he must never forget that his Lord is far above any human attributes or limitations. The angels and prophets alike glorify Him, acknowledging that His essence, His speech, and His actions are beyond comparison.

This verse teaches us that true honor lies not in worldly status but in being chosen by Allah for His service. Musa was a man who had fled from Egypt, a stranger in a foreign land, yet Allah elevated him to the rank of a prophet and spoke to him directly. This is a reminder that Allah's mercy and favor are not limited by our circumstances—He can raise the humblest of people to the highest of stations when their hearts are sincere.

The glorification of Allah in this verse also carries a beautiful lesson for every believer: whenever we witness something magnificent or experience a moment of divine grace, our response should be to praise Allah and declare His perfection. This keeps our hearts humble and our faith pure, protecting us from arrogance and self-admiration.

Dear reader, this scene invites you to reflect: if Allah could transform a simple fire into a place of divine revelation for Musa, then He can transform your ordinary moments into opportunities for spiritual growth and closeness to Him. Never underestimate the power of sincere seeking—when you sincerely seek Allah, He will come to you in ways you never imagined. And when you are blessed with His guidance, let your tongue be quick to say: "Subḥāna Allah, Lord of the worlds"—for He alone deserves all praise, and His mercy encompasses all that exists.
