Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Aziz (العَزِيزُ): The Almighty, the All-Powerful, the One who prevails over all things and cannot be overcome.
- Al-Hakim (الحَكِيمُ): The All-Wise, the One who is perfect in His actions, decrees, and legislation.
Tafsir (Explanation):
When Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) approached the sacred fire on the blessed mountain, Allah called out to him and revealed His divine identity, saying: *"O Musa, indeed it is I — Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise."*
This verse marks a profound moment of divine communication. Allah introduces Himself to Musa with two of His most beautiful attributes: Al-Aziz — the Almighty who is invincible, whose power knows no bounds, and who prevails over all creation; and Al-Hakim — the All-Wise, whose every command, decree, and action is rooted in perfect wisdom and justice.
In this brief yet mighty statement, Allah establishes the foundation of Musa's mission: he is being addressed by the Lord of the worlds, the One who is mighty in His authority and wise in His guidance. This declaration reassures Musa that the One speaking to him is none other than the Creator, who has chosen him for a great purpose — to confront Pharaoh and deliver the message of monotheism.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
This verse carries a timeless lesson for every believer. When Allah introduces Himself to Musa, He does so with attributes that inspire both awe and trust. Al-Aziz reminds us that no matter how powerful the tyrants of this world may seem, Allah's might is far greater. Al-Hakim reassures us that everything Allah ordains — whether in our personal lives or in the broader course of history — is filled with wisdom, even if we cannot always perceive it.
Dear reader, just as Allah spoke to Musa and guided him through the darkest of times, He is always near to those who call upon Him. The same Almighty and All-Wise Lord who equipped Musa with miracles and courage is your Lord today. Place your trust in Him, for His power is limitless, and His wisdom is perfect. Let this verse strengthen your heart, deepen your faith, and remind you that no challenge is too great when you are connected to the One who says: *"Indeed, I am Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise."*
