Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Mushfiqeen (مُشْفِقِينَ): Fearful, anxious, and deeply concerned out of dread.
- Min ma kasaboo (مِمَّا كَسَبُوا): Because of what they earned or committed (of sins and evil deeds).
- Rawdat al-Jannat (رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ): The lush, beautiful gardens and meadows of Paradise — the most delightful and verdant parts of it.
- Al-Fadl al-Kabeer (الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ): The immense, magnificent bounty and grace that surpasses all else.
Tafsir (Explanation):
On the Day of Judgment, you — O Messenger — will witness the wrongdoers, those who oppressed themselves through disbelief, polytheism, and sin, in a state of sheer terror and anxiety. They will look upon the evil deeds they accumulated in this worldly life, and the punishment for those deeds will be descending upon them, inevitable and inescapable. Their fear will not save them, for mere dread without sincere repentance is of no avail — the justice of Allah will seize them, and they will taste the bitter consequence of what their own hands sent forth.
In stark contrast, the believers who had faith in Allah and His messengers, and who followed that faith with righteous actions — performing good deeds sincerely for His sake — will be in the opposite state entirely. They will dwell in the most beautiful and verdant gardens of Paradise, surrounded by its lush meadows and magnificent palaces, enjoying eternal bliss. There, they will have everything their souls desire and their hearts long for, all granted to them by their Lord as an honor and a reward. This is the great bounty — a favor so immense that no mind can fully comprehend it, no description can do it justice, and no worldly pleasure can compare to it. This is the true success, the ultimate triumph that every seeker of good should strive for.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, pause and reflect on this powerful contrast. The wrongdoers are consumed by fear at the very sight of their deeds, while the believers are surrounded by delights beyond imagination. The choice is yours today: will you be among those who face their deeds with terror, or among those who enter the gardens of delight? The door of repentance is open, and the mercy of Allah is vast. Turn to Him now, purify your heart, and fill your life with righteous actions — so that on that Day, you may be among the people of the gardens, receiving the great bounty that never ends. Let this verse be a reminder that every moment is an opportunity to change your destiny and earn the pleasure of your Lord, the Most Merciful, the Most Generous.
