  • اسْتَجِيبُوا (istajeeboo): Respond, answer the call, and comply with obedience.
  • لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ (lima yuhyeekum): To that which gives you life — meaning spiritual, moral, and eternal life through faith and righteous action.

  • تُحْشَرُونَ (tuhsharoon): You will be gathered and resurrected for the Day of Judgment.

Explanation of the Verse:

O you who have truly believed in Allah as your Lord and in Muhammad as His Messenger, respond to the call of Allah and His Messenger with full obedience when they summon you to that which gives you true life. This call is not merely to physical existence, but to the life of the heart, the mind, and the soul — the life of guidance, knowledge, faith, and righteousness. In responding to this call lies the correction and flourishing of your affairs in this world and the Hereafter. It is the path that transforms a person from darkness to light, from ignorance to wisdom, and from despair to hope.

And know, O believers, with certainty, that Allah — Glorified and Exalted — is the One who has absolute control over all things. He is fully capable of coming between a person and the desires of their own heart. He can turn hearts away from what they long for, or guide them toward what is good, as He wills. Nothing happens in the universe except by His command and decree. So when He calls you to obedience, hasten to respond, for the One who holds your very heart in His Hand is the One most deserving of your submission. Do not delay or hesitate, for you do not know when your heart may be turned away from the truth after you have refused it.

And know also that you will all be gathered before Him alone on a Day that is certain to come — the Day of Resurrection. On that Day, He will reward each soul according to what it earned in this life. The good will find goodness, and the evil will find what they have sown. So let this awareness guide your choices today, before that Day arrives when no excuse will avail and no return will be possible.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear believer, this verse is a divine invitation filled with mercy and wisdom. Allah is not calling you to something that burdens you — He is calling you to life itself. True life is not found in the accumulation of wealth, the pursuit of fleeting pleasures, or the applause of people. True life is found in the sweetness of faith, the peace of a heart connected to its Creator, and the purpose that comes from walking on the path of the Messenger (peace be upon him). When you answer this call, you will taste a joy that no worldly comfort can match, and you will find a light that illuminates every corner of your existence.

Remember that your heart is in the Hand of Allah. He can turn it toward good or away from it. So do not delay your response to His call. Seize this moment, for you do not know what your heart will be like tomorrow. And never forget that you are journeying toward Him — every step you take in obedience brings you closer to His pleasure, and every step in disobedience distances you from His mercy. Let this beautiful verse be a turning point in your life: respond to Allah today, and live a life that truly matters — a life of faith, hope, and eternal success.

📜 Verse 22-26 — Al-Anfal

Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason.
Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing.
O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.
And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty.
And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful.
