Surah Al-Qamar — Verse 40

• Yassarnā: We made easy, facilitated, smoothed.

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, in His infinite mercy and wisdom, declares that He has made the Qur’an utterly easy—easy to recite, easy to memorize, easy to understand, and easy to derive lessons from. He has removed all barriers between His words and the sincere heart that seeks guidance. The verses are clear, the parables are vivid, and the warnings are striking, so that anyone who genuinely desires to remember Allah and reform their life can do so without hardship.

Then comes the gentle, compelling call: “Is there anyone who will take heed?” This is an open invitation to every soul—believer or seeker—to pause, reflect, and let the Qur’an transform their heart. It is a question that stirs the conscience, urging us not to turn away from the very Book that holds our success in this life and the next.

This verse is repeated throughout Surah Al-Qamar after each story of past nations, because repetition of warning and admonition leaves a deeper mark on the heart and steers the soul away from heedlessness. Every time you read it, Allah is personally asking you: *Will you be the one who remembers? Will you be the one who changes?*
