Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- يُحَاسَبُ: He will be reckoned/held to account.
- حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا: An easy, lenient reckoning — one that is free from strict interrogation or hardship.
Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse describes the fate of the believer who receives their record of deeds in their right hand — a sign of divine pleasure and acceptance. For such a person, Allah promises an easy reckoning: their deeds will be presented to them in a manner that is gentle and merciful, without the harsh scrutiny or detailed interrogation that accompanies the account of the wicked. The believer’s faith and righteous actions have already paved the way for this leniency, as their good deeds outweigh their shortcomings, and Allah’s mercy covers their flaws. This easy account is a manifestation of Allah’s grace — He overlooks minor slips, forgives imperfections, and admits the believer to Paradise with joy and contentment, where they will return to their families in eternal bliss.
This verse carries a profound and heartwarming message: Allah, the Most Merciful, does not burden His believing servants with impossible standards. When a person sincerely believes in their Lord and strives to do good, Allah makes their reckoning light and their path to Paradise smooth. It is a promise of hope and encouragement — no matter how many mistakes one has made, sincere faith and righteous deeds open the door to divine ease and ultimate success. The believer’s joy on that Day will be complete, as they see the fruit of their patience and devotion in this world.
Da‘wah (Call to Allah):
Dear reader, imagine standing before your Lord on the Day of Judgment, holding your book of deeds in your right hand, and hearing the words: “An easy reckoning for you.” What a moment of relief and joy that would be! This is the reward Allah has prepared for those who believe in Him, worship Him sincerely, and strive to do good in their daily lives. The path to this blessed outcome is open to you right now — through faith, prayer, honesty, kindness, and turning to Allah in repentance. Do not let the weight of your past sins discourage you; Allah’s mercy is vaster than your mistakes. Take a step toward Him today, and He will make your reckoning easy and your eternity bright. Islam is not a religion of fear, but of hope — a hope that leads you to a life of peace here and eternal happiness hereafter. Embrace it, and let this promise fill your heart with certainty and love for your Creator.
