Word Meanings:

(Mal‘ūneen): Cast out from Allah’s mercy, accursed, and driven away from all that is good.
(Thuqifū): Found, encountered, or come upon — wherever they are discovered.
(UkhiDhū): They shall be seized and captured.
(Wa quttilū taqtīlan): They shall be slain with a thorough, decisive slaughter — emphasized to show the severity and totality of the punishment.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the stern warning against three groups of troublemakers in Medina: those who conceal disbelief while outwardly claiming faith (the hypocrites), those whose hearts are filled with doubt and suspicion, and those who spread false rumors and malicious news among the believers to stir up discord and corruption. Allah declares that if they do not cease their evil ways, He will give the Prophet (peace be upon him) authority over them, and they will not remain as neighbors in the city except for a short while.

Then comes the fate described in this verse: they are accursed — banished from Allah’s mercy and stripped of every blessing. Wherever they are found, they will be seized — no refuge, no hiding place, no protection will avail them. And they will be slain with a decisive slaughter — a punishment that leaves no room for escape or survival, as long as they persist in their hypocrisy and their campaign of spreading corruption and falsehood among the believers.

This is not merely a historical statement; it is a divine law and a universal principle: those who wage war against the truth from within, who poison hearts with doubt and spread lies to divide the community, will ultimately face humiliation and destruction. Their plots will backfire, and their end will be disgrace in this world and severe punishment in the Hereafter.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, see how Allah protects His religion and His sincere servants! He does not leave the believers at the mercy of hypocrites and rumor-mongers. He promises victory for the truthful and a humiliating end for the treacherous. This should fill your heart with confidence: if you are sincere in your faith, Allah will never abandon you. He sees every plot, every whisper, every attempt to weaken the Ummah — and He deals with it in His perfect wisdom and timing.

At the same time, let this verse be a warning to your own soul: never be among those who spread doubt, division, or false news. Guard your tongue, purify your heart, and stand firmly with the truth. For the Qur’an teaches us that the end of the corrupt is always loss, while the end of the righteous is honor and eternal bliss. Choose today which path you wish to walk — the path of the accursed or the path of the beloved of Allah. The choice is yours, and the outcome is certain.

📜 Verse 59-63 — Al-Ahzab

O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumors in al-Madinah do not cease, We will surely incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little.
Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely.
[This is] the established way of Allah with those who passed on before; and you will not find in the way of Allah any change.
People ask you concerning the Hour. Say," Knowledge of it is only with Allah. And what may make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near."
