Tafsir (Interpretation):
This verse establishes a profound and unshakable truth: the way of Allah with the hypocrites and disbelievers of past nations is a fixed, unchangeable law. Just as He dealt with those who came before—exposing their hypocrisy, humiliating them, and ultimately bringing about their ruin wherever they were found—so too will He deal with the hypocrites of this ummah. They may think they can hide their true intentions, but Allah's decree is certain: they will be seized, subdued, and punished, no matter where they hide or how they scheme.
The verse carries a powerful reassurance for the believers: Allah's justice is not arbitrary, and His laws do not change with time, place, or circumstance. What happened to the hypocrites of old—the torment, the disgrace, and the failure of their plots—will inevitably happen to those who resemble them in conduct. There is no escape from His justice, and no one can alter His decree.
And here lies a beautiful lesson for you, dear reader: Allah's promise to support His righteous servants is just as unchangeable as His promise to punish the hypocrites. If you remain sincere in your faith, steadfast in your worship, and honest in your dealings, then know that Allah's help, victory, and mercy are guaranteed to you—for His way with the believers is as fixed as His way with the hypocrites. No force on earth can change what Allah has decreed for His sincere servants.
So take heart, and do not be deceived by the temporary success of those who spread corruption or hide their hypocrisy behind sweet words. Their end is already written in the pages of history, and the same fate awaits them. But for you—the one who clings to truth and sincerity—there is a glorious destiny that no power can ever alter. This is the sunnah of Allah, and you will never find in the sunnah of Allah any change.
