Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Din al-Khalis (الدين الخالص): Pure, sincere devotion and worship that is free from any form of shirk (associating partners with Allah).
- Awliya (أولياء): Allies, protectors, or objects of worship taken besides Allah.
- Zulfa (زلفى): Nearness, closeness, or a means of drawing near.
Tafsir (Explanation):
Indeed, to Allah alone belongs all pure and sincere worship. He alone deserves complete devotion, obedience, and submission—worship that is free from any trace of shirk. This is the essence of the religion that Allah has prescribed for His servants, and He accepts no other.
As for those who take allies and objects of worship besides Allah—whether idols, statues, angels, or righteous people—they claim, "We do not worship them except to bring us closer to Allah." They argue that these intermediaries will intercede for them and elevate their status before Allah. But this is a false and dangerous justification. Allah has made it clear that worship belongs to Him alone, and no one shares in His divinity. No intercession occurs except by His permission, and no one can bring another closer to Him except through sincere faith and righteous deeds.
Allah will judge between the believers who worship Him alone and the polytheists who associate partners with Him on the Day of Resurrection. He will settle their disputes with perfect justice, admitting the sincere believers into Paradise and casting the disbelievers into the Fire. Nothing escapes His knowledge, and His judgment is absolute and final.
Indeed, Allah does not guide to the straight path those who are liars and persistent disbelievers—those who invent falsehoods about Him, attributing partners to Him, and who reject His signs and proofs with ingratitude. Their hearts are sealed, and their fate is sealed with it.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, reflect on the simplicity and purity of this message. Your Lord does not need intermediaries to reach Him. He is closer to you than your own jugular vein. He hears your whispers, knows your thoughts, and responds to your calls. Why then would you seek others to bridge a distance that does not exist? Turn to Allah directly with a sincere heart, and you will find Him ever near, ever ready to accept your worship and answer your prayers. This is the beauty of Islam—a direct, unmediated connection between the servant and his Lord, free from all falsehood and full of mercy and love.
