Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Kitab (الكتاب): The Book, referring to the Qur'an.
- Bil-Haqq (بالحق): With the truth — meaning it is revealed containing absolute truth in its reports and justice in its rulings.
- Mukhliṣan (مخلصًا): Being sincere, pure, and free from any form of shirk (associating partners with Allah).
- Ad-Din (الدين): The religion, worship, obedience, and all acts of devotion.
Tafsir (Explanation):
O Messenger, Allah declares that He has sent down to you the Qur'an, carrying the absolute truth. Every report it gives is true, every command it issues is just, and every promise or warning it mentions is certain. It is not a book of myths or falsehood, but a divine revelation that guides humanity to what is right and just in all affairs.
Then Allah commands you, and through you the entire Ummah (nation), to worship Him alone — with sincere devotion, purifying your religion entirely for His sake. This means your prayer, your fasting, your charity, your sacrifice, your love, your fear, and your hope must all be directed to Allah alone, free from any trace of shirk, hypocrisy, or showing off. Sincere worship is the very essence of the message of all prophets — to single out Allah in all acts of obedience and submission.
Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, pause and reflect on this profound verse. The Qur'an was revealed with truth, and it calls you to the purest form of worship — one that liberates your heart from the chains of created beings and connects it directly to the Creator of the heavens and the earth. When you worship Allah with sincere devotion, you find true peace, purpose, and contentment. Your life gains meaning, your trials become easier, and your heart becomes anchored in certainty. This is the path of the prophets, the path of liberation and inner tranquility. Embrace it with an open heart, and you will taste the sweetness of faith that no worldly pleasure can match. Allah has made this worship easy for you — He asks only for your sincerity, not your perfection. So begin today, purify your intention, and let every act of your life be a beautiful offering to your Lord.
