Explanation of the Verse:
O humanity, know with certainty that no calamity strikes you — whether it be on the earth, like droughts, famines, or the loss of crops and fruits, or in your own selves, like sickness, poverty, or the death of loved ones — except that it was already written and decreed in the Preserved Tablet before We even brought creation into existence. Every single event, from the smallest to the greatest, was recorded by Allah’s infinite knowledge and wisdom long before it ever touched your lives. And this — the recording and decreeing of all things — is utterly easy for Allah, for He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, and nothing on earth or in the heavens escapes His knowledge or His will.
This truth should fill your heart with profound peace and unwavering trust in your Lord. When you truly understand that everything that befalls you was already written, you will no longer grieve over what you have lost, nor will you despair over what has passed you by. You will realise that no hardship could have been avoided, and no blessing could have been withheld, for all is by the decree of the Most Wise. This belief transforms your trials into a source of reward, your patience into an act of worship, and your heart into a vessel of contentment. So, dear believer, submit to your Lord’s decree with a tranquil soul, and know that in His wisdom lies what your mind cannot fully grasp — and that He, in His mercy, never writes for you anything except that it carries goodness, either in this life or the next.
