Surah Al-Muddaththir — Verse 10

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse describes the Day of Judgment as a day of immense severity and hardship—but specifically for the disbelievers. When the Trumpet is blown for resurrection, that day will be a day of terror, distress, and overwhelming difficulty for those who denied Allah and His messengers. It will not be a simple or easy matter for them; rather, they will face the agony of reckoning, the horrors of standing before their Lord, and the consequences of their disbelief. Every step of that day will be a source of torment for them—unlike the believers, for whom Allah will ease the account and grant security.

This hardship is not a random punishment but a natural outcome of their rejection of the truth in this worldly life. They refused to submit to Allah, mocked His signs, and turned away from His guidance. So on that Day, they will face the reality they denied—and it will be anything but easy.

This verse is a profound reminder of the mercy of Allah toward the believers and a warning to those who persist in disbelief. It invites us to reflect: if the Day of Judgment is severe for the disbelievers, how fortunate are those who strive to obey Allah and follow His Messenger?
