Surah Al-A'la — Verse 19

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse concludes the previous statement in which Allah Almighty says that what has been mentioned in this blessed chapter—of success for those who purify themselves, remembrance of their Lord, preference for the Hereafter over worldly life, and the eternal bliss of Paradise—is not new or unprecedented. Rather, its meaning and essence were already recorded in the earlier divine scriptures that were revealed before the Qur'an. These are the scriptures given to Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) and Prophet Moses (peace be upon him).

The revelation of the Qur'an confirms and reiterates the same fundamental truths that were sent down in those earlier books: the oneness of Allah, the importance of purification of the soul, the reality of the Day of Judgment, and the ultimate triumph of the righteous.
