Tafsir (Explanation):
This noble verse paints a beautiful and comprehensive picture of sincere charity. Allah, the Most Merciful, describes those who spend their wealth purely for His pleasure — not for show, not for praise, and not for any worldly gain. They give at all times: during the night and during the day, in secret and in public. This means their giving is not limited to a particular hour or a particular mood; rather, it is a constant state of their hearts. They give secretly to protect the dignity of the poor and to purify their own intentions from hypocrisy, and they give openly to set an example for others and to encourage the community toward goodness.
For such people, Allah promises a reward that is stored and secured with Him — a reward that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart can imagine. This is the ultimate transaction: they gave of their worldly wealth, and in return, they receive from the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth. And then comes the most beautiful reassurance: "No fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve." They will not fear what awaits them in the Hereafter, because their deeds were sincere and their accounts are in the hands of the Most Merciful. And they will not grieve over what they left behind in this world, because they understood that true wealth is not in what you keep, but in what you give for the sake of Allah.
This verse is a divine invitation to every believer to taste the sweetness of giving. When you spend for Allah — whether in the quiet of the night when no one sees, or in the light of day when others witness — you are not losing anything. You are investing in a treasure that never perishes. The hand that gives is never empty; it is always filled with barakah (blessing) in this life and with eternal joy in the next.
So, dear believer, let this verse inspire you. Do not wait for abundance to give; give from what you have, and Allah will multiply it. Do not fear poverty through charity; Allah has promised increase. And know that every dirham you spend sincerely for His sake is a seed planted in the garden of Paradise, waiting to bloom into everlasting happiness. This is the path of the righteous — a path of peace, security, and unending bliss.
