Surah Al-Anbiya — Verse 45

Explanation of the Verse:

O Messenger, Allah instructs you to declare to all people: "I do not warn you of anything from my own self, nor do I speak from my own desire. I only warn you through the revelation that Allah sends down to me — the Qur'an — which contains the truth of what has come before and the news of what is to come. It is the clear proof and the decisive criterion."

Then Allah describes the state of the disbelievers: they are like the deaf who cannot hear the call being made to them. When they are warned of Allah's punishment and reminded of His signs, their hearts are sealed, and they do not benefit from the warning. They hear the words with their ears, but their minds and hearts are closed to understanding and acceptance. Just as a deaf person cannot hear a caller no matter how loud the voice, these people — due to their arrogance, stubbornness, and attachment to their falsehood — do not truly listen to the call of truth when it reaches them.

This is a profound reality: the warning is delivered clearly, the evidence is complete, and the message is plain. But the one who has shut his heart to guidance will not find the path, no matter how much he is called. The deficiency is not in the message; it is in the listener.
