Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Haqq (الْحَقُّ): The Absolute Truth, the One whose existence is certain and undeniable, and whose divinity is the only true divinity.
- Yuhyi al-Mawta (يُحْيِي الْمَوْتَى): He gives life to the dead, resurrecting them for the Day of Judgment.
- Qadir (قَدِيرٌ): All-Powerful, capable of doing everything without any limitation or obstacle.
Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse concludes the preceding discussion about the stages of human creation — from a drop of fluid, to a clinging clot, to a lump of flesh, to birth, to growth, and finally to death and the grave. All these miraculous transformations are not random events; they are deliberate signs pointing to a profound reality.
The verse declares: "That is because Allah — He is the Truth." This means that everything you have witnessed in the creation of human beings, and in the alternation of life and death, is conclusive proof that Allah alone is the true God, the only One worthy of worship. Unlike the false idols and deities that people invent, Allah's existence is an absolute certainty that cannot be denied. The very fact that you exist, that you were created from nothing, and that you are sustained every moment is living evidence of His truth.
Then the verse continues: "And He gives life to the dead." This is a direct logical conclusion from what has just been mentioned. The One who created you from a mere drop of fluid, who brought you forth from the womb, and who caused you to grow and develop — is He not able to bring you back to life after death? Indeed, the resurrection is not a distant impossibility; it is as easy for Him as the first creation. The One who began creation will repeat it, and this repetition is even easier.
Finally: "And He is over all things competent." Nothing is beyond His power. Whether it is the creation of the heavens and the earth, the sending of rain from the sky, the growth of plants from dry soil, or the resurrection of billions of souls from dust — all of this is equally effortless for Him. His power knows no limits, and His will faces no resistance.
Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, contemplate this verse deeply. The same Allah who created you with such precision and care, who formed you in the womb stage by stage, who gave you eyes to see and ears to hear — this same Allah is fully capable of bringing you back to life after death. He is the Truth, and everything else in this world is fleeting and temporary. So why would you turn away from the worship of this All-Powerful Creator to worship idols, desires, or worldly possessions that can neither benefit nor harm you?
This verse invites you to open your heart to the certainty of the Hereafter. If you truly believe that Allah is the Truth and that He is capable of all things, then your life will take on a new meaning. You will live with purpose, knowing that your deeds will be weighed, and that you will meet your Lord. The resurrection is not a myth; it is a reality that follows logically from the very existence you enjoy right now. Let this certainty transform your heart, and let it draw you closer to the One who created you, sustains you, and will one day resurrect you — for He is the Truth, and His promise is true.
