Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(As-Sa'ah): The Hour — the Day of Resurrection and Judgment.
(Atiyah): Surely coming, inevitably approaching.
(La Rayba fiha): No doubt whatsoever concerning it.
(Yab'athu): He will raise, resurrect, and bring back to life.
(Man fil-Qubur): Those who are in the graves — all of humanity that has died.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse establishes two fundamental pillars of faith that every believer must hold firmly in their heart:

First: The Hour (the Day of Judgment) is absolutely coming. There is not a shred of doubt about it. It is not a myth, not a distant fantasy, and not a matter of speculation. It is a certain reality that will unfold exactly as Allah has promised. The One who created the heavens and the earth, who set the sun and the moon in their precise orbits, who brought every living being into existence from nothing — that same Almighty is fully capable of bringing that Day to pass. His promise is true, His word is final, and His decree cannot be overturned.

Second: Allah will resurrect everyone who has died and is resting in their graves. He will raise them from the dust, reassemble their bodies, and bring them forth alive once more — not for amusement or play, but for a serious purpose: to hold them accountable for their deeds. Every good deed will be weighed, every action will be examined, and every soul will receive exactly what it earned. Nothing will be lost, nothing will be forgotten, and nothing will be unjust.

This resurrection is not difficult for Allah. The same power that created you the first time from a drop of fluid can easily recreate you from bones and decayed remains. The One who gives life to dead earth after drought, bringing forth green vegetation — He is the same One who will bring life back to the bodies in the graves.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart! If you truly believe that this Hour is coming without doubt, and that you will stand before your Lord — then ask yourself: What have you prepared for that meeting? Have you filled your record with deeds that will please your Creator? Have you repented from your sins before it is too late?

The grave is not the end — it is merely a waiting room. The real journey begins after resurrection. So seize this precious opportunity while you are still alive, while your heart still beats, and while repentance is still accepted. Turn to Allah sincerely, worship Him alone, follow His Messenger ﷺ, and do good to His creation. For on that Day, no wealth, no status, and no family will help you — only your faith and your righteous deeds will speak for you.

This is the beautiful promise of Allah — a promise of justice, mercy, and eternal bliss for those who believe and do good. Do not let Shaytan deceive you into thinking you have plenty of time. The Hour is near, and every passing moment brings it closer. Be among those who prepare for it, and you will find its arrival a day of joy and success rather than regret and loss.

📜 Verse 5-9 — Al-Hajj

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.
That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent
And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves.
And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him],
Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allah. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said],
