Translation — Tafsir

Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse is a direct and powerful reassurance from Allah to His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to all believers. Allah says: These disbelievers who mock you and reject your message are nothing more than a small, insignificant army that will be utterly defeated, just like the confederate groups of disbelievers who came before them. They are no different from the nations of Nuh (Noah), 'Ad, Thamud, the people of Lut (Lot), the people of Shu'ayb, and Pharaoh with his mighty power—all of whom united in their arrogance and disbelief, gathering their forces to oppose the truth and fight the messengers. Yet, despite their numbers, their strength, and their alliances, they were all crushed and humiliated by Allah's decree. Their plots came to nothing, and their power evaporated like dust in the wind.
The verse carries a profound lesson: the enemies of truth may gather, conspire, and appear overwhelming, but their end is always defeat. Allah's promise to His prophets and His righteous servants is certain victory, whether in this life or the Hereafter. So let not the believer's heart be troubled by the size of the opposing forces or the intensity of their hostility. Their fate is already sealed—they are "a defeated army" even before the battle begins, because they stand against the will of Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, reflect on this verse and find comfort in it. How often do we feel overwhelmed by the challenges around us—by those who mock our faith, oppose our values, or try to silence the truth? This verse reminds us that no matter how powerful the "confederates" of falsehood may seem, they are ultimately weak and doomed. Their unity is fragile, their plans are futile, and their end is humiliation. But the believers—those who stand firm on the truth—are under Allah's protection, and His help is always near. So hold on to your faith with confidence, and never fear the armies of falsehood, for victory belongs to the people of truth. As Allah says elsewhere: "And Allah will certainly aid those who aid His cause. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might" (Al-Hajj: 40). Let this be a source of strength and hope for you, and a call to trust in Allah's promise, for He never breaks His word.
