Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Nunajjeeka (نُنَجِّيكَ): We will raise you up / deliver your body.
- Badanika (بِبَدَنِكَ): Your body alone, without your armor or garments.
- Ayatan (آيَةً): A sign, lesson, or evidence for those who come after.
- Man khalfaka (لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ): Those who come after you, from your generation and later generations.
Tafsir (Explanation):
On this very day, O Pharaoh, We will raise your lifeless body from the depths of the sea and cast it upon a high, elevated place of the shore — bare and alone, without your armor, your chariot, or your army. This is so that those who witnessed your drowning, and those who hear of it in later generations, may see with their own eyes that the one who claimed divinity was nothing but a mortal man, defeated and humiliated by the very power he denied. Your body becomes a silent witness — a standing proof that the Lord of the heavens and the earth is the Only True God, and that His promise to His messengers is always fulfilled.
Had you truly been a god, as you claimed, you would not have drowned in a single wave. But your corpse, washed ashore, exposes the falsehood of your claim and confirms the truth of Musa (peace be upon him). This is a mercy from Allah — that He preserved your body so that people might reflect and take heed, turning away from arrogance and toward humility before their Creator.
Yet, despite this profound sign, many people remain heedless of Allah's signs and proofs. They see but do not reflect; they hear but do not ponder. They pass by the greatest lessons of history without letting them touch their hearts. This is a gentle warning to every reader: do not be among the heedless. Open your eyes to the signs around you — in the universe, in history, and in your own life — for Allah has placed countless evidences of His power and wisdom, waiting for hearts that are awake.
Let this story inspire you to submit to Allah before it is too late. Pharaoh had every chance to believe, but his pride held him back until the moment of death — and even then, his faith was not accepted. Do not delay your return to Allah. The door of repentance is open now, but no one knows when it will close. Be among those who reflect, who learn from the past, and who live in obedience to their Lord — for that is the path to true success in this life and the next.
