Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • "Bilisan qawmihi" (بلسان قومه): In the language/tongue of his own people — meaning the native tongue they fully understand.
  • "Liyubayyina" (ليبين): To make clear, to explain, and to remove any ambiguity.
  • "Yudillu" (يضل): To lead astray or leave in misguidance — as an act of divine justice.
  • "Yahdi" (يهدي): To guide, to grant success and direction to the truth — as an act of divine grace.
  • "Al-Aziz" (العزيز): The Almighty, the All-Powerful, the One who cannot be overcome.
  • "Al-Hakim" (الحكيم): The All-Wise, who places everything in its perfect and proper place.

The Interpretation:

O noble Prophet, know that We never sent any Messenger before you except that he spoke the very language of his own people. This was not a limitation, but a profound mercy and wisdom from your Lord. Why? So that the Messenger could clearly and fully explain to them the commandments of Allah, the truths of faith, and the path of righteousness — leaving no excuse for them to say, "We did not understand." The message reached them in the clearest words, in the dialect they grew up with, so that the proof of Allah was established upon them in the most complete and undeniable manner.

Yet, after this clear communication, the matter of guidance and misguidance remains entirely in the Hands of Allah alone. He leads astray whom He wills — and this is by His perfect justice, for those who stubbornly reject the truth after it has been made clear to them. And He guides whom He wills — and this is by His abundant grace and favour, for those who sincerely seek the truth and open their hearts to it. No one can force another to believe, and no Prophet was sent to compel people; rather, the Prophet's duty was only to convey the message with utmost clarity.

And Allah is Al-Aziz — the Almighty, whose will no one can oppose or frustrate. Whatever He decrees shall come to pass, and none can question His authority. And He is Al-Hakim — the All-Wise, who does not guide or misguide except with perfect wisdom, placing every matter in its rightful place, knowing what is best for every soul.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder the immense mercy of your Lord in this verse! He did not send His Messengers with obscure signs or incomprehensible revelations — rather, He spoke to every nation in its own tongue, in the language of everyday life, so that no one could claim ignorance. This is the beauty of Islam: a message that is clear, accessible, and relevant to every human being in every time and place.

And here lies a profound lesson for us today: just as Allah sent His Messengers with the language of their people, we too are called to convey the beauty of Islam to others in a language they understand — not only linguistically, but also culturally and intellectually. Speak to people's hearts, address their concerns, and present the truth with wisdom and beautiful preaching.

Moreover, this verse reminds you that guidance is a gift from Allah. So, turn to Him sincerely and ask Him to guide your heart, to keep you steadfast on His path, and to make you a means of guidance for others. For He is Al-Aziz — nothing escapes His power — and He is Al-Hakim — He knows exactly what will benefit you and when. Trust His wisdom, submit to His decree, and never despair of His mercy. Indeed, the door of guidance is wide open for every sincere seeker until the very last moment of life.

📜 Verse 2-6 — Ibrahim

Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment
The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error.
And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days of Allah." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to His people, "Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
