Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(Arūnī): Show me, bring forth your proof or evidence.
(Alḥaqtum bihī shurakā’): You have attached to Him partners—i.e., you have associated others with Him in worship.
(Kallā): No, absolutely not—a firm negation and rejection of their claim.
(Al-ʿAzīz): The Almighty, the All-Powerful, who prevails over everything and cannot be overcome.
(Al-Ḥakīm): The All-Wise, who perfectly orders His creation, decrees, and actions with profound wisdom.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O Prophet, say to those who worship others alongside Allah: "Show me—bring forth your proof and evidence—those beings you have attached as partners to Allah and whom you worship with Him. Do they create anything? Do they provide sustenance? Do they possess any power over your affairs?" This is a challenge that exposes the emptiness of their claim, for they can never present any real proof.

Then Allah categorically rejects their notion: "Kallā"—No, absolutely not! The matter is not as they imagine. They have no basis for associating partners with Him. Rather, He is Allah alone—the only true deity worthy of worship. He is Al-ʿAzīz, the Almighty whose might none can challenge or resist; He is fully capable of taking vengeance upon those who commit shirk (associating partners with Him). And He is Al-Ḥakīm, the All-Wise in His words, His actions, and His management of all creation. His wisdom dictates that He alone deserves worship, and no one shares even an atom's weight of His sovereignty, power, or divinity.

So how could anyone claim that He has a partner in His dominion? The very idea is absurd and contradicts His perfect nature. This verse is a profound call to reflect: if these so-called partners cannot even prove their existence as deities, let alone demonstrate any creative power, then why would a wise person bow to them? The answer is clear—true submission belongs only to Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

A Daʿwah Reflection:

This verse invites every human being to pause and examine the objects of their devotion. Whether it is wealth, status, desires, or fabricated deities, none of these can offer any proof of divinity or provide any benefit or harm. Islam calls you to free your heart from all false attachments and direct your worship solely to the One who created you, sustains you, and knows what is best for you. When you submit to Allah alone, you find true peace, dignity, and purpose—because you are connected to the Almighty who never fails, and the All-Wise who never errs in His decree. This is the path to success in this life and the Hereafter. Embrace it with an open heart, and you will discover the sweetness of faith that no worldly pleasure can match.

📜 Verse 25-29 — Saba

Say, "You will not be asked about what we committed, and we will not be asked about what you do."
Say, "Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge."
Say, "Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No! Rather, He [alone] is Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know.
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
