Surah Saba — Verse 28

Word Meanings:

• Kaffah (كَافَّةً): All together, universally, without exception — meaning the Prophet's mission encompasses every human being regardless of race, color, or land.
• Basheeran (بَشِيرًا): A bearer of glad tidings — one who gives good news of Paradise and Allah's reward to those who believe and do righteous deeds.
• Natheeran (نَذِيرًا): A warner — one who cautions against the punishment of Hellfire for those who disbelieve and persist in evil.

Explanation of the Verse:

O Prophet Muhammad, Allah did not send you to a specific tribe, a particular nation, or a limited era — rather, He sent you as a universal mercy to all of humanity, to every person on the face of the earth until the end of time. Your mission is twofold: you bring glad tidings of Paradise and eternal bliss to those who believe, worship Allah alone, and follow His guidance; and you warn of the Fire and severe punishment to those who reject the truth and persist in disobedience.

Yet despite the greatness of this message and its profound importance for every soul, most people do not realize this truth. Their ignorance and heedlessness lead them to reject you and turn away from what you have brought. Had they truly understood the magnitude of what you offer — salvation from Hell and entry into eternal Gardens — they would have rushed to embrace it with all their hearts. But their lack of knowledge and their attachment to worldly matters veil their minds from recognizing the greatest treasure ever presented to humanity.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear reader, pause and consider: the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not sent to Arabs alone, nor to a people of a certain time — he was sent for YOU, personally. The message of Islam is not a historical relic confined to the past; it is a living call addressed to every human being until the Last Day. The glad tidings of Paradise are within your reach, and the warning of Hell is a mercy in itself — for it awakens you before it is too late. Allah, in His infinite wisdom and love, did not leave you without guidance. He sent His final Messenger with the complete way of life that guarantees your happiness in this world and your salvation in the next. So do not be among those who "do not know" — seek knowledge, open your heart, and respond to the call of truth. The door of mercy is wide open, and the Messenger ﷺ is waiting to intercede for those who follow him. Will you not be among the blessed?
